It was the colour that initially drew us in, but it’s the traditional dresses and the allure of what this group of women were laughing at, that held our captivation. It’s fun, it’s silly, it’s vivid and it’s our Frame Your View competition winner.
It might not have the grandness or adrenaline-inducingness of some of the other entries, but Andrew Tan has captured a very human, everyday moment and made it something to smile at. We also really want to know what’s on the phone.

Congratulations to Andrew Tan for winning our Frame Your View competition. Andrew has scored an OM-5 + 14-150mm Kit, valued at AU$2,339!
We didn’t know what to make of this image when we first saw it; a confident young girl, barefoot and full of spirit, waves at passersby while her brother stares out from beside the fruit stall, apprehensive. But we love the juxtaposition, and somehow, despite being thousands of kilometres away, Ashini de Alwis manages to make us believe we’re really among the lush green hills of Sri Lanka’s breathtaking highlands. Well played Ashini, well played.

You just know that each one of these hippos is silently judging Peter Coleman’s khaki ensemble and the professional camera he’s trying to figure out how to use. It’s all in the eyes. There might even be a bit of a ‘get outta my swamp’ vibe going on. In all honesty, it looks like he figured it out—this sight is one we’d gladly canoe down the Zambezi River for.

One very big mountain, two very small people. Unsurprisingly, that’s not what this epic shot is called, but if we had any say (we don’t), then it’d be something along those lines. With the mighty Mt Everest acting as the world’s best backdrop, Peter Coleman (again) captures something truly incredible. The scale, the clouds, everything about this image makes us want to book a one-way flight to Nepal.

We know this shot was taken in Vietnam, but that’s about all we know. Trayce Hughes manages to capture a woman deep in thought and it’s left us with a few burning questions. What’s she feeling in this moment? And what’s the white, unidentified liquid she’s stirring? Even without the answers, this image is absolutely captivating.

On a scale of one to mind-blowing, this next shot is a solid 9.5. The ferocity of the water as it fuels the river, the huge rock in the middle upsetting the flow, the expert manoeuvre you know had to have just happened for the kayaker to get around it, the adrenaline that’s now coursing through his veins. The Cowlitz River in Washington State, USA, is only occasionally navigated, but Taylor Parsons happens to capture the moment a kayaker expertly steers himself through the fork.
