Say goodbye to swearing incessantly as you try to fit poles into places the instructions tell you they go, but they don’t. And you can forget about waking up with a crick in your back and a million mosquito bites all over your body.
Once your roof conversion’s been installed, all you have to do is push up, switch off and enjoy the best damn camping experience of your life. It really is that simple.

We know it sounds a bit jargon-y, but this thing promises 10/10 image quality. It’ll even fine-tune exposure levels so you’ll never take a bad picture again. And forget about turning your flash on for those night pics—the Pocket 3 has an inbuilt 1-inch CMOS sensor for dependable low-light performance.

SPIRITUS MULTIMEDIA SHOW
Churches are for worshipping, connecting with a higher power, and for sitting stunned as you watch a kaleidoscope of colours dance across the altar.
At least, that’s what the Igreja dos Clerigos Church in Porto is for. Technically, what we witnessed was Spiritus, a unique multimedia and audiovisual show projected throughout the church, but it felt more like a religious experience. Or as close to one as we’re likely to get without a priest present.
There’s lights. There’s music. There’s colours. There’s visual effects. And they all come together to transport you on a sensory journey through multiple magical universes. It sounds like an exaggeration, but it was genuinely one of the coolest things we’ve ever sat through. We didn’t even mind the sore neck we got from looking straight up for 60 minutes.
But there’s a method to the imaginative madness. The show is designed around the poem, ‘After all, the best way to travel is to feel’, by Alvaro de Campos and he’s bang on. You can feel the energy, the atmosphere, and the spirituality of the adventure you’re on. It’s not touristy, its transcendental.

CALTOPO BACKCOUNTRY APP
Planning your next off-road adventure is a little easier with your pocket-sized sidekick, Caltopo—the best backcountry hiking app goin’ round.
It makes literally getting off the beaten track easier than ever, thanks to its collaborative map building, location sharing and offline adventuring features. Like, this one-stop hiking shop does all the thinking for you. By the time you’ve retied your shoelaces and put on your sunscreen, it’s already calculated your trail’s slope angle, found satellite images of the site, gauged nearby water levels, assessed current weather conditions and knows exactly where public land turns into private property. It’ll even tell you if there’s a chance of snow in your hike’s future.
The best part? You’re completely offline. No pesky phone calls from your partner asking when you’re gonna be home. Or ‘urgent’ emails from the boss (even though it’s the weekend). You can completely zone out and focus on the nature surrounding you. Just make sure your phone’s fully charged before you set out.
