WINNER

This photo is practically a haiku in pixels.

Three perfectly still fishermen sit on chairs with rods, while Mount Fuji looks on majestically in the background like the cool kid in a smoky jazz bar. The mood is calm. The colour palette is blue-on-blue serenity. The vibe is peak tranquility (literally).

Captured by John Sowden, it’s an image that makes you want to quit your job, buy a floppy hat, and spend your life whispering to trout. The symmetry, the still water, the god-tier volcano backdrop, it’s the ultimate Japan postcard without the cliché and we bloody love it. Well done, John, well done.

Bathed in the golden light of dusk, this powerful image captures the silhouettes of a group of warriors standing tall against the African sky.

With traditional adornments and feathered headdresses dancing in the breeze, the scene feels timeless; is it a ceremony or a celebration? Deannie Janowitz captures the figures in a way that adds mystery and majesty, inviting the viewer to witness a moment rich with heritage and pride. It’s the kind of photo that transports you, reminding us that travel isn’t just about places, but about the stories, rituals, and spirit that define them.

Suspended mid-air above the sea, this image captures a moment of pure focus and determination.

Against the backdrop of dramatic mountain peaks and open sky, a young man leaps from a traditional boat, gripping a rope with effortless strength and grace. There’s energy here - raw, kinetic, and entirely unscripted.

This is life’s simple pleasures: warm sun, cool water, and the kind of spontaneous adventure that travel dreams are made of. One click of Mark Daffey’s shutter, and an everyday scene becomes something extraordinary.

There’s beauty in movement, and this image captures the motion.

Fishermen working along the shoreline are seen through a blur of woven hats, sun-washed shirts, and golden nets flung wide. The motion blur creates an almost painterly effect, like a living canvas of rhythm, teamwork, and tradition.

It’s a glimpse into a way of life shaped by the sea, where the day begins with a shared purpose and generations of knowledge. More than just a photograph taken by Marty Strecker, it’s a celebration of culture, community, and the enduring connection between people and place. And we’re obsessed.

If this photo had a smell, it’d be a heady blend of chai, sweat, and newsprint.

Peter Hammer captures one of those gloriously unfiltered alley moments that make you fall in love with India: the dogs, the gossip, the snacks, and that golden-hour light turning an otherwise grimy street into cinematic gold.

A man reads the day's breaking news, while another casually sips from a tin cup like he's hosting a talk show. The peeling walls and chaotic cart add just the right amount of visual spice. It's gritty, it's gorgeous, it's got character, and it’s a scene that deserves a standing ovation (with a samosa in hand).

Whoever said "don’t rock the boat" clearly never tried kayaking along the edge of a melting glacier. But Roksana Kielkowska sure did.

This image is a frozen mic drop from above; three tiny boats boldly floating where land, ice and water perform at their minimalistic best. The kayaks, like colourful sprinkles on Mother Nature’s icy cake, pop against the vast, teal expanse, making you want to sign up for an expedition asap.

Seriously, this pic depicts our ultimate cold-weather adventure fantasy and we’re here for it.
